In addition, for cocktail aficionados, the tumbler boasts a core innovation. Inside the glass, there is a collection of extruded chevrons that radiate from the center. These chevrons serve as grip points for ingredients used in muddled drinks. Unlike traditional cut crystal, the entire surface of the tumbler, both inside and out, is created in a single moment. The molten crystal is machine-pressed into a complex five-part mold, resulting in a visually stunning and tactile form. The combination of geometric facets, edges, and curved surfaces creates an organic aesthetic that captivates the eyes and invites touch.

When we embarked on creating this glass, we had a clear vision of who it was intended for – you, the intrepid galactic pilot enjoying whisky over ice. However, rather than simply designing another rocks glass, we aimed to challenge conventions and push the boundaries of form. Over two years of development, each element, curve, edge, angle, and facet of this glass has been meticulously considered. This wasn't about creating just any glass; it was about crafting the ultimate, unrivaled, and heaviest tumbler possible.

Let's begin by discussing the form, the production process, and the challenges involved in making such an object. We start from the ground up, focusing on the base, which is one of the most distinct features of this glass. Unsurprisingly, it was also one of the most challenging aspects to mass-produce. Our craftsmen in the Czech Republic urged us to make changes, hoping to resolve the difficulties. However, as always, we persevered.

The precision-modeled base rests on four crystal points, creating the illusion of hovering – a celestial satellite. Naturally, we wanted this glass, which we aimed to be the heaviest in your collection, to appear weightless.

However, glass cools at varying rates based on its thickness. Given the significant difference in thickness between the walls and the base of the tumbler, a precise cooling and turning technique must be choreographed before fire polishing the mold seams. If the glass cools too rapidly, it may crack due to the discrepancy in thickness. Conversely, if it cools too slowly, the glass may sag on its base.

This process is an intricate balancing act, testing the limits of production feasibility and the expertise of machine-press technicians. It is a dance, demanding precise timing and intuition to achieve the illusion of a floating heavy glass.

Now, shifting our focus to the sides, the triangular facets of the base evolve into a more three-dimensional form, elevating the glass above the table surface. These facets give way to the triangular surfaces and creases that form the main outer surface, inviting your hands to touch. Moving upward, these iconic shapes smoothly transition into gentle curves that eventually lead to the finely edged rim—a part that's meant to be experienced with your mouth.

Muddling Chevron Feature: The Heavy Tumbler offers more than just a visually striking rocks glass to impress your friends and guests. Its inner base houses a specifically developed multi-chevron cross-shaped extrusion. This design is engineered to grip ingredients during the muddling process. Countless iterations led to the chevron pattern that elegantly aids in the art of cocktail making. Its purpose is to securely hold the slippery and waxy peels, allowing you to muddle them with ease.
